Best smartwatches for Android in 2024
Smartwatches
Wear OS is much better than it used to be, so there’s never been a better time to consider a smartwatch.
As we know in the past few years there have been many top quality new Android smartwatches launched. But we are still evolving and advancing. Although you can look for third-party apps the smartwatch market is much diversed.
The latest Wear OS version(Wear OS 5) is present on Samsung’s Galaxy Watches and Pixel Watch 3, but several other watches are still trying to compete. Some of the features, such as Google Assistant are not available on all watches of Wear OS 3, and, Wear OS 4 is uncommon among the public. Although there are several issues but still the market of Android smartwatch is growing.
If you want to wait until Wear OS improves there are several other smartwatches present that can work with any platform. Firstly keep in mind which version of Wear OS you wish to buy and check its chip and the version before buying it. An example is Mobvoi which took a longer period of time to update its older version(which was Wear OS 2) to newer versions such as Wear OS 3 and it just began updating to Wear OS 4. Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 5 version was the first launched watch in the United States to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus chip. It is a good watch but you might have to wait a while until more options of the W5 Plus version become feasible to its users. The present without the updates is also effective but also Pixel Watch 3 and OnePlus Watch 2 offer better performance and longer-lasting batteries.
You should keep the things in mind that I have mentioned earlier, android users have more smartwatch choices than ever before. I have provided a list of my favorite watches that I recommend to you.
Best smartwatch for Android phones
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic
The rotating bezel returns on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. While the updates are iterative, you now get Wear OS 4, One UI 5 Watch, larger batteries, and a larger display thanks to the 15 percent thinner bezel.
If you are using a Samsung device then it is best for you to buy a Samsung smartwatch. Among the 4 watches, the best one in my opinion is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. As we know Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Watch 7, the Classic model has not been improved which means more amazing updates of this version will be available soon. I recommend this model because of its physical rotating bezel on the Classic version. If you wish to buy the latest features then the Galaxy Watch 7 has an improved chip and the latest health sensor. There is a bit of improvement compared to the last year but there is no further update required for this watch. It comes with Wear OS 5 and One UI 6 Watch which will also be included in the previous models. I recommend the Watch 7 if you prefer a mini size but do not bother with the rotating bezel and buy a watch that will last for a longer period. The Classic’s rotating bezel is quite thinner than the one on the Galaxy watch and the new design looks prettier. The look is quite good and is clear to read, which is present in 43mm, and 47mm sizes. So, you can pick which is comfortable for you to wear. The Classic runs on Wear OS 4 which enhances battery duration and adds cloud backups. The One UI 5 Watch also has some improvements for health as well as sleep which will finally be available for older versions. I recommend you buy the standard Galaxy watch 6 because it is lightweight, economical, and a mini size.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
If you are an outdoor enthusiast then the best choice for you is Galaxy Watch Ultra. It has a longer-lasting battery which lasts about 3 days. Moreover, it has features including dual GPS, a new multisport activity mode, and an emergency siren that increases its resistance to water and quality. It also provides a customizable shortcut button. It is similar to Apple Watch Ultra but designed for Android users. If you are on a budget then there’s also the new Galaxy Watch FE. It is a repackaged version of the Galaxy 4 version of the watch.
The Samsung health app provides you with a good experience for keeping track of your fitness which includes options such as turn-by-turn navigation during activities like cycling and hiking. Although the nightly blood oxygen readings aren’t impressive Samsung has been updating its sleep tracking features.
These watches contain built-in GPS, body composition and irregular heart rhythm notifications, emergency alerts, and ECGs. Currently, it has come with new features such as an Energy score, AI-powered wellness news, and FDA-approved sleep issues detection. But we know that the energy score works well while the AI features are hit or miss and the AGES index appears useless. The AGSs Index is only present on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra Versions. It is not recommended to buy a Samsung watch if you are not using a Samsung phone because the features of Samsung’s smartwatch are only available for Samsung.
