Human Rights Day and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Every year human rights day is celebrated globally on 10 December. It is based on the world’s most historical pledges which is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights(UDHR). This document is an important statement that declares that all people being human should have some particular basic rights. These rights should be same for everyone and it doesnot matter what race,skin color, religon, gender, language, beliefs, country, social background, wealth or what place they belong to. It expresses that these right must be served to anyone.

The declaration was officialy announced by the UN General Assembly on the date of December 10 1948 and it is the first time in history to form the basis of human rights to be observed across the globe.

It forms a basis of achievement for all people and nations, the UDHR is a global blueprint for international, national, and local laws and policies and a bedrock of the 2030 plan for a development.

It is available in multiple languages such as Abkhaz to Zulu, making the UDHR the most translated document across the globe.

We have a chance to change how people think by speaking out against hate speech, correcting false information, and fighting misinformation. On December 9, 2001, President George W. Bush declared that Human Rights Week would start on December 9. He made the same announcement again on December 10, 2008.
